UNO Names Kirk Smith Employee of the Month

Kirk Smith, Catering Assistant for UNO Food Services, was recently named UNO’s Employee of the Month for July.

The Celebration Committee surprised Kirk with the award and refreshments on June 28, 2019.

Kirk was nominated by his peers for his hard work and flexibility.

They said, “It is always great to know that Kirk will be working an event. When he is there, we always know that anything necessary to take care of the clients will be done.”

They continue, “Kirk is good at communicating what is needed for his events and if we have a last-minute curveball where we are all scrambling to move someone to a different room, he goes with the flow and gets the job done.”

For being nominated as Employee of the Month, Kirk will receive a certificate, lapel pin, hot/cold tumbler, portrait, monetary award, two tickets to a UNO sporting event and use of a designated parking space. The Staff Advisory Council congratulated Kirk by providing snacks and fare for the Employee of the Month to enjoy with peers and department members in celebration.
