A data breach disclosed on July 23 by Lincoln-based Ameritas Life Insurance Corp., the third-party administrator for the University of Nebraska's dental plan, has a minimal impact on NU employees.
Ameritas has informed the university that only one employee was among those whose personal information was potentially exposed as a result of the breach. That employee, whose identity and campus affiliation is not known, has been notified by Ameritas and offered the appropriate precautions.
Employees who have not received a notification letter from Ameritas should assume their data was not exposed. Those with questions may review additional information provided by Ameritas here, or call Ameritas at 800.487.5553.
