The First Generation Guild is a collaborative effort to support students who are first in their families to pursue higher education. 40% of UNO students are first generation students.
-
The group provides first generation students on campus a sense of community and welcome, academic support, support outside of the classroom (wellness, etc.) and celebrating their successes as a student.
-
The First Generation Guild partners with the Service Learning Academy and the Office of Civic and Social Responsibility to get those students out into the community to teach them that they can learn not only in the classroom but out within their own communities as well.
