Audition for the "The Maverick Machine"

The band performs for Omaha Volleyball, Omaha Men's and Women’s Basketball, and Omaha Hockey events.

Do you play an instrument? Are you a fan of the UNO Mavericks? Do you have plenty of school spirit? Audition for the University of Nebraska at Omaha “Maverick Machine” pep band!

The Maverick Machine is UNO's resident pep band at the state-of-the-art Baxter Arena. The band performs for Omaha Volleyball, Omaha Men's and Women’s Basketball, and Omaha Hockey events.

The Maverick Machine has become a major public face of the university—playing for former President Barack Obama's historic visit to the UNO campus as well as giving innovative performances at UNO sporting events. The band has traveled with UNO teams to tournaments around the United States and often collaborates with university spirit and community organizations. Additionally, members of the Maverick Machine receive a $500 cash stipend for their efforts at the conclusion of the athletic season.

All Auditions will take place at the Strauss Performing Arts Center between Sept. 10-14, 2019. If you require a special time outside of those listed on the scheduling website linked below, please contact Dr. Kearney as soon as possible by email at jskearney@unomaha.edu.
