The University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) has a long and proud history of developing high-achieving student veterans. This year, we are happy to announce that Patrick Miller was selected to attend Student Veterans of America's (SVA) 2019 SVA Leadership Institute.
The Institute is an immersive leadership program that prepares students to affect change stretching beyond their SVA chapter and campus. SVA Alumni Mentors facilitate attendees through a foundational leadership experience to develop core values and hone their leadership skills. Selected through a competitive application process, the nation’s top SVA Chapter Leaders leave with an awareness of their personal leadership ethos and a connected network of peers.
2019 marks the third consecutive year, and fifth UNO student that has been selected to attend this highly competitive program leadership program. Each year, student veterans compete for roughly 100 positions of the 1,500 global chapters.
Miller had the opportunity to meet and hear from highly influential figures such as: Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Senator Tammy Duckworth, Representative Slotkin, and Medal of Honor Recipient Kyle White.
