The UNO Dance Team traveled to Minneapolis, Minnesota on Saturday, Jan. 11 to compete in the UDA Spirit of America Regional Championship.
The team earned a 1st place finish in Division I Pom competing against fellow Summit League team North Dakota State University, and a 1st place in Division I Jazz. They also received an award for Best Choreography in the overall college division for their jazz routine, a piece choreographed by former UNO Dance Team members, Brooke Buda and Danyelle Kerrigan.
Next up the team is headed to UDA College Nationals in Orlando. They will compete in Division I Pom, Jazz, and Game Day, and are looking to continue climbing the ranks as they compete at this event only for the third time. Last year they were recognized by event commentators as a "team to watch" and they are hoping the combination of a strong rookie class and experienced veterans push them into medal position.
