UNO Names Ana Gavia Employee of the Month

Ana Gavia, Communication and Study Abroad Assistant within the Office of Latino/Latin American Studies (OLLAS), was recently named UNO’s Employee of the Month for January.
The Celebration Committee surprised Ana with the award and refreshments on Jan. 10, 2020.
Ana was nominated by her peers for dedication and flexibility.
They said, “Ana is a very dedicated employee who goes above and beyond, not only by assisting us in rebranding the OLLAS logo, creating flyers and disseminating the information of our events/programs diligently, but also updating the content and image of the OLLAS social media platforms.”
They continue, “Ana has shown a high degree of adaptability and flexibility in carrying out office tasks.She demonstrates an ability to think critically and independently about needed changes, in real time, or how things could improve.”
For being nominated as Employee of the Month, Ana will receive a certificate, lapel pin, hot/cold tumbler, portrait, monetary award, two tickets to a UNO sporting event and use of a designated parking space. The Staff Advisory Council congratulated Ana by providing snacks and fare for the Employee of the Month to enjoy with peers and department members in celebration.
To nominate an employee, print and complete the nomination form and send it through campus mail to the Office of Human Resources, 205 EAB.
