UNO Names Wendy Duerfeldt Schutte Director of Academic Budget
Duerfeldt Schutte holds a master's degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in educational administration with emphasis in higher education.

The University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) has recently hired a Wendy Duerfeldt Schutte as the new Director of Academic Budget. In this position, Duerfeldt will provide planning and decision support to the Senior Vice Chancellor and administrative leadership within the Division of Academic Affairs.
In the role, Duerfeldt Schutte brings 13 years experience in higher education as well as a history in corporate accounting.
Her most recent position has been the assistant dean of business and finance and chief operations officer at the Hixson-Lied College of Fine and Performing Arts at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, a role she held for the last 6-1/2 years.
In that role, Duerfeldt Schutte has overseen significant change including and increase in college enrollment; an increase the number of faculty and staff; and an increase in the value of the college's endowment. She has been instrumental in effecting change, process improvement, and supporting the initiatives of faculty, staff, and students.
Duerfeldt Schutte has also previously served Creighton University as a grants administrator and then as the Director of Finance in the Creighton School of Pharmacy and Health Professions.
Duerfeldt Schutte holds a bachelor's degree from Peru State College in business administration with an emphasis in accounting and management. She also holds a master's degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in educational administration with emphasis in higher education.
When not working, Duerfeldt Schutte enjoys spending time with her family in the community attending various events and volunteering with various organizations as well as traveling.
