The UNO Division of Business and Finance has announced that, starting March 1, Larry Morgan will serve as Executive Director of Campus Facilities.
The new position will be a dedicated facilities management resource for the UNO campus in close partnership with University of Nebraska Facilities Management & Planning. Morgan had been serving as the head of UNO facilities in an interim capacity since August 2019 and, prior to that, been Assistant Director of Facilities Management and Planning at UNO since 1999.
In his new role, Morgan will oversee UNO Maintenance and Operations, Custodial Services and Landscape Services. He will also work closely with the University of Nebraska Medical Center's facilities team to identify and implement efficiencies across both campuses.
"Larry is a great fit for this role because of his knowledge of our campus and his strong relationships with faculty, staff and students," said Doug Ewald, vice chancellor for business, finance and business development. "Larry's career at UNO has not only allowed him to contribute and support each of our campus buildings, also by reducing our energy consumption in significant ways and lead the way on truly exciting expansion and renovation efforts."
Morgan has degrees from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and UNO. He is a certified Professional Mechanical Engineer (PE), Certified Education Facilities Professional (CEFP) and holds a Master's in Business Administration (MBA).
Prior to joining UNO in 1999, Morgan spent 12 years in the private sector in the areas of engineering, planning, design and construction project management.
