The Maverick community is mourning the loss of UNO retiree Donald Grandgenett.
Grandgenett passed away on Sunday, April 5; he was 87 years old at the time of his passing.
While at UNO, Grandgenett was a professor of Teacher Education within the College of Education from September of 1968 up until his retirement in September of 2002.
He is survived by his wife Jeanette and son Nealy Grandgenett, a professor of STEM Education and STEM Outreach Coordinator for the College of Education.
The UNO flag will be lowered in Grandgenett’s honor at a later date.
