Statement from Chancellor Gold Regarding Recent National Events
- published: 2020/05/28
To the University community,
Since the very beginning of this pandemic, we have emphasized all of the steps that we are taking are to support the health, safety and well-being of the entire family of faculty, students and staff at UNO and UNMC and the many communities that we serve. We will continue to do so because nothing is more important to us.
I fully understand that recent national events may have members of our university community – particularly those individuals of color – concerned about their own health, safety and well-being. Please know that we recognize the deep pain and loss associated with these tragic events and stand together as we support each other through these difficult times.
UNO and UNMC remain committed to ensuring our campus is a place where all are welcome, all are accepted, and all are included, so that every individual has the peace of mind needed to reach their fullest potential and achieve their dreams.
Most sincerely,
Jeffrey P. Gold, M.D.
Chancellor
