After six years of service as the University of Nebraska at Omaha’s Assistant Vice Chancellor and Director for Human Resources, Cecil Hicks, Jr., will become the university’s first Associate Vice Chancellor for Diversity, Equity, Access and Inclusion (DEAI) effective July 1.
Chancellor Jeffrey P. Gold, M.D., sat down with Hicks to discuss the new role and how the position will support a campus culture of inclusiveness, accessibility, and equity through the development and coordination of strategic initiatives that contribute to the overall success of faculty, staff, and students.
