Curious how world events will impact life in Nebraska? Need advice for helping your child navigate the new school year? There’s an expert for that at the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO).
Faculty experts from UNO will share their subject matter expertise with audiences across the state through a new innovative partnership with News Channel Nebraska (NCN).
“Access the Experts” is a new segment set to air twice weekly on NCN stations statewide, beginning Tuesday, Sept. 1, that will provide Nebraskans from the Panhandle to the Platte Valley with the opportunity to ask questions and receive answers from faculty experts at UNO.
The segment also provides the university with a unique opportunity to showcase the expertise of the Maverick community statewide, positioning its experts as leaders in their respective fields to a wider audience.
Viewers can submit questions through a submission form on the UNO website. Questions submitted will be reviewed by NCN and UNO. Those selected will be answered by a faculty expert from one of UNO’s six academic colleges, as well as experts from relevant departments and university leadership, depending on the subject matter.
Submissions are welcomed on any and all topics. Questions can be tied to current events or simply be a question where someone would like to receive an expert response.
For example, an economics professor from UNO’s College of Business Administration can discuss how the global pandemic will impact employment and the economy in Nebraska at the local level. Or, a faculty member from UNO’s College of Education, Health and Human Sciences could speak to how parents can help their children prepare for a new school year.
Segments will air on News Channel Nebraska stations statewide on Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 6:46 A.M. Segments will re-air on the evening of its original air date at 6:46 P.M.
