An interdisciplinary team of UNO faculty is preparing a National Science Foundation grant proposal aimed at improving recruitment and retention of faculty that are women and persons of color in STEM fields.
The research team is collecting data on campus culture and possible barriers to growth and advancement in these areas that exist at UNO, as part of the proposal development process. To provide feedback on your own experiences and support this research.
This NSF ADVANCE program grant seeks to build on prior NSF ADVANCE work and other research, as well as literature concerning gender, racial, and ethnic equity. NSF ADVANCE provides grants to enhance the systemic factors that support equity and inclusion, and to mitigate the systemic factors that create inequities in the academic profession and workplaces. The research team includes faculty from the Department of Psychology (Roni Reiter-Palmon, Yimin He), Department of Biomechanics (Sara Myers, Jenna Yentes), and Department of Management (Kelsey Medeiros).
