Following a number of individuals reaching out regarding the challenges of finding child care as schools resume operations and many students learning remotely, UNO Human Resources has done some research to help provide employees who have children with some community resources:
For UNO faculty and staff with younger children who are not yet in kindergarten or pre-school, the UNO Child Care Center is a great resource. Currently, there is a wait list for admission, but openings can come at any time. Visit the UNO Child Care Center website to learn more about UNO's own nationally-accredited early childhood learning center, or call 402.554.3398.
Care.com is a free, searchable database that includes names of one-time, or long-time child care providers.
The Nebraska Child Care Referral Network allows individuals to search for licensed child care providers across Nebraska.
Nanny Poppinz is a one-stop website that can help you search for a nanny to meet your family's needs.
This list of care providers has been self-submitted by UNO colleagues and so UNO cannot verify or is not similarly endorsing any non-university resource. The list is solely designed to assist UNO employees.
