UNO Launches Enhanced Website Search Experience
Stemming from months of website user research and completed case studies, it was determined that UNO website could greatly benefit from the solution provided by Funnelback.

For the last several months, the University Communications Digital team has been partnering with Information Technology Services and Funnelback to bring web users an enhanced search experience.
Stemming from months of website user research and completed case studies, it was determined that the University of Nebraska Omaha (UNO) website could greatly benefit from the solution provided by Funnelback. Prospective students will now be able to locate program information faster and have the ability to create a short-list of programs to compare. Other external website users will be able to fine-tune their search and drill down based on additional search facets. Internal audiences will be able to find directory and news and event information all within their respective tabs.
Some other benefits of this new enhanced search function include:
- a robust majors and programs search feature which allows search across specific fields of study, saved searches, creation of shortlist and program comparisons
- faceted navigation meaning filters to help the user to narrow down the search results easily by file type, date, category, and audience without having to conduct another search
- concierge search which combines simple autocomplete and content suggestions to infer the search term and predict the most relevant content
- curated content that guides the user’s search journey through promoting and modifying results so users find quick answers with the most relevant content
In addition to the above enhancements also follows a face-lift of sorts. The new experience is balanced with a modern user interface branded in UNO colors and fonts.
