Flag Lowering for Catherine Griesel
The UNO flag will be lowered for retiree Catherine Griesel on Friday, Oct. 16. Grisel served as an assistant professor of English from 1968 until her retirement in 1985.

The University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) flag will be lowered Friday, Oct. 16, in memory of UNO retiree Catherine Griesel.
Catherine passed away on Aug. 13, 2020 and was 101 at the time of her passing.
As an assistant professor of English, Catherine served as a dedicated educator through 17 years at UNO, beginning her tenure in 1968 and retiring in 1985.
Catherine continued to serve students as a volunteer with the Office of the Registrar for several years.
Services were held for Catherine on Sept. 2, 2020 in Omaha.
The thoughts and condolences of the university community are with Catherine's loved ones during this difficult time.
