UNO Names Gary Repair Employee of the Month

UNO has announced Gary Repair, senior producer for UNO Television, as Employee of the Month for November.

The Celebration Committee surprised Repair with the news on Tuesday, Nov. 11.

In his nomination materials, Repair's coworkers called him the "soul of UNO Television," noting the wide range of responsibilities he oversees in his role. This includes a range of special programs for campus clients; statewide and national broadcasts; national television interviews with high-profile figures; and managing the budget process.

"UNO Television has developed a reputation among national networks as the studio to contact when they need to talk to newsmakers in Omaha," his nomination form stated. "To be honest, these are now web-based communications, and Gary is the one responsible for the great reputation. He is on the speed dial of NBC, CBS, ABC, Fox News, CNBC, Fox Business and more."

In addition, Repair was celebrated for his adaptability and longevity, being able to grow UNO Television with each new technological innovation.

"Not only has Gary adapted to it all he has championed it," his nomination stated. "We have completely overhauled the TV studio in the past three years, and Gary has spent hours and hours and hours learning the equipment, all of it, so he can not only continue to make outstanding TV programs, but he can teach it to the students."

Repair is also a talented educator, not only working with student crew members but teaching multiple classes in the School of Communication each semester.

For being nominated as Employee of the Month, Repair will receive a certificate, hot/cold tumbler, monetary award, two tickets to a UNO sporting event and use of a designated parking space.
