UNO Recognized With AHA Workplace Health Achievement Award
The campus received a Silver Award as one of the American Heart Association's healthiest workplaces based on seven different categories of organizational best practices.

The American Heart Association (AHA) has named the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) as recipient of the Silver Workplace Health Achievement Award for 2020, recognizing the campus for implimenting quality workplace health programs and culture.
Earning this recogntion places UNO alongside such national organizations such as GEICO, NASCAR, American Airlines, and MetLife.
"The COVID-19 pandemic has shined a bright light on overall health and the growing divide of health equity, and we are grateful for organizations like yours who are doubling down to prioritize flexible and engaging programs that put their employee’s health and well-being at the center," AHA CEO Nancy Brown wrote in UNO's recognition letter.
AHA's Workplace Health Achievement Index scores organizations on 55 individual practices across seven categories, providing a science-based assessment of overall workplace heart health. Categories include leadership, engagement, programs, communications and more.
"We are excited to be recognized by the American Heart Association with this award," said Aileen Warren, Associate Vice Chancellor for Human Resorces at UNO and UNMC. "This is truly a reflection of the hard work, collaboration, and commitment our entire campus has to supporting wellness resources and education."
