In response to a need for an enhanced hiring process for faculty in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, Human Resources and Academic Affairs partnered to create and pilot the use of DocuSign Powerforms to streamline and secure the completion of required hiring forms. In the wake of the success of this new process, Human Resources has further developed the DocuSign function to expand these forms to all hiring processes at UNO.
Beginning this month, four PowerForm selections will be available with new hire paperwork specific to faculty, student employees, hourly staff, and salaried staff.
Each form contains:
- a personnel data form
- W-4 forms, Policy agreements
- security and confidentiality statements
- direct deposit forms
- instructions for form I-9
- a welcome letter to the employee
Additional forms specific to students and hourly staff employees are included in the forms for those individuals.
Implementation of these forms is a response to enthusiastic requests from business managers and PAF coordinators across campus. The new forms allow for a paperless transmission of processing hiring paperwork. It dramatically speeds the gathering of hiring information, ensures security of protected personal information, reduces the margin for error and missing information and enhances the accuracy in the collection of demographic data.
To support implementation, informational sessions and trainings were held with business managers and PAF coordinators.
