Gina Ligon, Ph.D., head of UNO's National Counterterrorism Innovation, Technology, and Education Center (NCITE), joined Chancellor Jeffrey P. Gold, M.D., to recognize the one-year anniversary of the center's announcement.
One year ago, on Feb. 24, 2020, UNO announced it had been selected by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to lead a global counterterrorism center of excellence.
The National Counterterrorism Innovation, Technology, and Education Center (NCITE), which coordinates 17 different partner institutions from across the country, has spent the last year making strides in research as well as applied education for students.
NCITE is led by Gina Ligon, Ph.D., Jack and Stephanie Koraleski Professor of Collaboration Science within the College of Business Administration. Her research focuses on the identification and development of high level talent; innovation and leadership; and organizational structures and leadership in non-traditional organizations such as terrorist cells.
