How to Watch Mavericks Competing in Tokyo

Maja Mihalinec Zidar (Team Slovenia)
Former Maverick track & field member Maja Mihalinec Zidar is set to compete in the Olympics for the second time in her career while a member of the Slovenian Olympic Team. Mihalinec Zidar previously competed in the Rio Olympics in 2016.The former Maverick is set to compete in the 100m dash on Friday, July 30 and 200m dash on Monday, August 2.
Mihalinec Zidar was a member of the Maverick track & field in 2008-13, setting personal-best times of 11.71 and 24.09 in the 100 and 200-meter dashes, respectively.
The former Maverick placed sixth in the 60m at the European Indoor Championships in 2019 and fifth in 2021.
In 2015, she was named Female Athlete of the Year by the Athletic Federation of Slovenia before being named the Slovenian Track & Field Athlete of the Year in 2019.
Mike Rostampour (Team Iran)
In Sept. 2019, former Omaha Men's Basketball forward Mike Rostampour helped Team Iran qualify for the 2020 Olympics.Rostampour is the fourth Maverick in school history to qualify for competition on the world's biggest stage, joining Omaha track & field athletes Pinar Saka (2012 Olympics; Turkey), Maja Mihalinec (2016 and 2020 Olympics; Slovenia) and Taleah Williams (2016 Paralympics, USA).
A Maverick letterwinner from 2013-15, Rostampour is in his seventh year as a professional.
