Flag Lowering for Penny Nordahl
The UNO flag will be lowered on Tuesday, Aug. 31, in memory of Nordahl, who passed away on Aug. 21, 2021, at the age of 82.

The University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) flag will be lowered on Tuesday, Aug. 31, in memory of UNO retiree Penny Nordahl.
Penny passed away on Aug. 21, 2021, at the age of 82. She recently retired from UNO in 2021 as a coordinator for the Goodrich Scholarship Program after working at UNO for 48 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Frances Webb, as well as her husband, Carl E. Nordahl.
Penny is survived by sons and daughters-in-law Carl H. and Val Nordahl of Omaha; and Chris and Cathy Nordahl of Fremont; grandchildren Carl M. and Stephanie Nordahl; Damien Nordahl; Luke and Anna Finnerty; Casey Finnerty; Camille and Ashley Queen; six great grand-children; and brothers and sisters-in-law George and Pat Webb; and Hank and Shelly Webb.
A service was held for Penny on Thursday, Aug. 26.
The thoughts and condolences of the university community are with Penny's loved ones during this time.
