Chancellor Li: Support for Mexico
Li: "When you belong to a global community like UNO, your neighbors are everywhere. Whether it is wildfires on our west coast, flooding on the east coast, or storms that have impacted coastal regions around the world, natural disasters always seem to hit close to home."

Mavericks,
Nebraskans are no strangers to weathering storms. Our communities have seen natural disasters that can change lives in an instant – from widespread flooding in recent years to the windstorms that battered our area just weeks ago. In such times of need, all of us have looked to our neighbors, friends, family, and the community for support.
When you belong to a global community like UNO, your neighbors are everywhere. Whether it is wildfires on our west coast, flooding on the east coast, or storms that have impacted coastal regions around the world, natural disasters always seem to hit close to home.
Today, our neighbors in Acapulco, Mexico need our support as they grapple with the aftermath of a powerful 7.0-magnitude earthquake that struck the city Tuesday night.
My heart is also with our many students, faculty, staff, and community members who call Mexico home or have close ties to the country. We are thinking of you and have resources available to support your emotional well-being if you need them.
Sincerely,
Joanne Li, Ph.D., CFA
UNO Chancellor
