Flag Lowering for Patricia Dargantes
The UNO flag will be lowered on Wednesday, Jan. 26, in memory of Dargantes, a UNO retiree who passed away on Jan. 6 at the age of 78.

The University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) flag will be lowered on Wednesday, Jan. 26, in memory of UNO retiree Patricia "Pat" Dargantes.
Pat passed away on Jan. 6, 2022, at the age of 78. She started at UNO on in April 1989 and continued until her retirement in March 2010. While at UNO Pat worked as a trainer in information technology for Academic Partnerships for Instruction, teaching hundreds of students math, chemistry, and Intro to Computing classes.
Prior to coming to UNO, Pat was a member of the Peace Corps, a medical technician, and a teacher in Ashland, Neb. She was also a UNO alumna, earning a Bachelor of Science in 1979.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Del; and her brother, Johnny. She is survived by her daughter, Della (Tom) Henriksen; grandchildren: Leah, Luke, Milly, Jack; and brothers, Joe (Val) Hillers, Bert (Maxine) Hillers.
A service was held for Pat on Saturday, Jan. 15, 2022.
