Flag Lowering for Jolene Headrick
The UNO flag will be lowered on Wednesday, April 20, in memory of Headrick, a retired staff assistant from the Department of History. Headrick passed away on April 9 at the age of 67.

The University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) flag will be lowered on Wednesday, April 20, in memory of UNO retiree Jolene Headrick.
Jolene passed away on April 9, 2022 at the age of 67.
Joining UNO in 1990, Jolene served as a staff assistant in the Department of History until her retirement in 2019. Prior to joining UNO she had a long career in nursing, which was inspired by her sister.
A service was held in her honor on Tuesday, April 12.
Jolene was preceeded in death by her parents, Frederick and Elaine Kirsch; daughter, Tiffany Rae Headrick; brother, Roger Kirsch; and sister Thomasine Kirsch. She is survived by her husband, Rodney; son Ryan; brother Steve; gradsons Randolph and Dylan; and great grandsons Bentley and Ryan.
The thoughts of the Maverick family are with Jolene's family and loved ones at this time.
