Jonathan Acosta to Serve as Nebraska Liaison for NACADA Region Six
Acosta also serves as President of the Academic Advising Council and Director of Academic Advising for the Academic and Career Development Center (ACDC).

The Global Community for Academic Advising (NACADA) has announced Jonathan Acosta, the current President of the Academic Advising Council and Director of Academic Advising for the Academic and Career Development Center (ACDC), as the Nebraska Liaison for NACADA Region 6. NACADA is a professional organization that promotes and supports high-quality academic advising for staff and faculty. It is compromised of over 10,000 international members and 2,400 institutions of higher education. Acosta's role as Liaison began effective May 2022.
As the Nebraska Liasion, Jonathan will be responsible for helping the steering committee:

develop strategic goals for the region

oversee the region's budget
-
communicate to members in Nebraska about regional awards and scholarships, programs, elections, conferences, and more
Acosta is a UNO alumnus earning degrees in Neuroscience and Biology in 2015. He also holds a master's degree from Ball State University in Educational Administration. Acosta has served at UNO in various capacities, including Multicultural Affairs and the Thompson Learning Community. Now he oversees academic advising in the Academic & Career Development Center. He believes deeply in the power of quality academic advising and is a tremendous student advocate.
Acosta was also recently named UNO's Employee of the Month for June.
