The University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) Office of Institutional Effectiveness and Student Success (IESS) has announced that Rashonda Austin will serve as director of undergraduate admissions.
As the director of undergraduate admissions, Austin, who has held the role in an interim capacity since June 2022, is responsible for the management and administration of recruitment and admissions efforts for students at the undergraduate level. This includes developing strategies to enroll students locally and regionally; overseeing admissions staff; and building relationships with high schools, community colleges, and local businesses to help make the admissions process for students of all backgrounds supportive and successful.
Prior to taking on the role, she served as associate director of undergraduate admissions since 2019.
“Rashonda’s love for building relationships and passion for student success puts UNO in a strong position to recruit and develop Mavericks who will move our community and our state forward,” said Rich Klein, Ph.D., vice chancellor for IESS. “I look forward to what she will accomplish in this role.”
Austin earned a bachelor’s degree from UNO in criminal justice and holds a certificate in equity and diversity.
