Limited Parking Around Baxter Arena on Friday, May 19

With two UNO commencement ceremonies and three NSAA State Baseball championships, it will be a busy day at and around Baxter Arena and Maverick Park; May 19.

On Friday, May 19, Baxter Arena will host the UNO Commencement Ceremonies and Maverick Park will host the NSAA State Baseball Championships for Class A, Class B and Class C.

With these events scheduled to coincide on Friday at two venues that share some parking lots, parking availability will be at a premium. Guests are encouraged to carpool and arrive early to allow additional time for traffic and parking.

Commencement

Visit the Commencement website for event details. Here are some updates and reminders to help you arrive on time:

  1. Arrive early. Arriving 90 minutes to an hour before your ceremony can help ensure that you’re on-site and inside Baxter Arena on time. Doors open at 8 A.M. and 1 P.M.

  2. Know your options. Parking is available in many lots around Baxter Arena (see a map here) or in the Aksarben Village garages across Center Street.

  3. Consider carpooling. Know some other graduates or have friends and family planning to attend? Fewer vehicles can help everyone find parking spots closer to the arena.

Parking

Parking is free and spaces are first come, first served at Baxter Arena and Maverick Park. Additional parking is located in the Aksarben Village parking garages north of Center Street.


Shuttles for Baseball Fans

Additionally, a shuttle service will be available for baseball fans, leaving from UNO's Scott Campus parking lot 5 located at 67th and Pine by Mammel Hall to Maverick Park.

The shuttle service will operate from Noon to 7:00 P.M. on Friday. Those attending the Class A game, should not take the shuttle as return service will end at 7:00 P.M.
