A delegation from Binh Duong Province in Vietnam, situated to the north of Ho Chi Minh City, paid an official visit to the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) campus on Oct. 2. This significant visit served as a strategic follow-up to UNO Chancellor Joanne Li's, Ph.D., CFA, previous diplomatic mission to Vietnam in July.
The delegation that visited UNO's campus consisted of prominent figures, including Binh Duong Province Governor Vo Van Minh. Several officials from Becamex, a key player in Binh Duong's economic landscape, were also present. This included North American Chief Representative Bill Dao, who orchestrated the event, and Becamex CEO Pham Ngoc.
The primary objective of the delegation visit was to acquaint the Binh Duong delegation with the UNO campus and explore potential avenues for further cooperation between the province and the university. Additionally, the delegation was connected with UNO's partners, Metropolitan Community College (MCC), and the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC), further expanding the possibilities for multi-faceted collaboration.
These interactions are part of a continued effort to foster cross-cultural knowledge exchange and to strengthen international ties in the pursuit of academic and economic advancement. The deliberations and discussions during the visit laid the foundation for a future rich in possibilities and exchange of knowledge between Binh Duong Province and UNO.
During Chancellor Li’s recent visit to Binh Duong province in Vietnam, accompanied by other prominent UNO representatives, she engaged in discussions and explorations at the Becamex Global Headquarters and Eastern International University (EIU).
