At their December meeting, the University of Nebraska Board of Regents presented Cara Ortega with a KUDOS Award for her ability to think creatively to problem solve and support students.
As the Associate Registrar in the Office of the University Registrar at the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO), Ortega is known for going above and beyond expectations in everything that she does.
One of her nominators said that "She is a go-to colleague for the entire UNO campus, and we count on her ability to think creatively to problem solve and support students.”
Ortega’s leadership and willingness to collaborate helps faculty and staff better support students as they select classes and complete their degree programs.
“Cara's work encompasses removing barriers for students. She understands how important an accurate degree audit system is to students… Cara's partnerships across campus are integral to the success of advising. As a former academic advisor, Cara understands the nuances of advising and brings this experience into her current role as Associate Registrar.”
In presenting the Board of Regents KUDOS award to Ortega, UNO Student Body President/Regent Hakim Lotoro thanked her for her dedication to the University of Nebraska at Omaha and to the Office of the University Registrar.
Congratulations, Cara!
