Flag Lowering for Kent Lavene

The UNO flag will be lowered on Friday, Feb. 16, in memory of retiree Kent Lavene.

The University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) flag will be lowered on Friday, Feb. 16, in memory of Kent Lavene, who recently passed away.

Kent started his career at UNO on Dec. 1, 2004 and worked for Financial Support and Scholarships and Student Affairs. He retired from UNO on Oct. 1, 2018.

He is survived by his husband, Frank Ellis; sisters Sharon (Marlo) Kreutzer and Nancy (Rich) Fowler; brother Ron (Sharon) Lavene; sister-in-law Veronica Lavene; and other family and friends.

A memorial visitation will be held Sunday, Feb. 18, from 1 to 4 P.M, with a Service of Remembrance at 2 P.M. at Good Shepherd Funeral Home (L Street Chapel).

The thoughts and condolences of the university community are with Kent’s loved ones during this time.
