At their June meeting, the University of Nebraska (NU) System Board of Regents presented Chris Lode with a KUDOS Award for her positivity and willingness to go the extra mile to help others.
As the assistant to both Rich Klein, Ph.D., (Vice Chancellor of Institutional Effectiveness and Student Success) and Cathy Pettid, LMHP (Associate Vice Chancellor and Dean of Students), Lode is known for her quick-thinking and great communication skills, as well as the kindness she shows everyone she encounters.
Lode has been with UNO since 2002, with previous roles in the Department of Recruiting Services, and later Undergraduate Admissions. In her current role, she supports two of the busiest and most student-facing areas of the university. Managing the calendars of two vice chancellors is no small feat, and Chris handles it with tact and grace.
Barb Harvey, Executive Assistant to the Chancellor, says that “Chris’ roles have always had her communicating with students, faculty, staff, and community partners. Chris treats everyone with dignity and respect no matter who they are.”
Her positivity and desire to help others embodies the Maverick Spirit and extends beyond the borders of our campus.
“Chris often sees our students during her commute to work on the city bus. When they approach her with questions, she’s always open to listening to them and guiding them to the correct resources.”
When presented with the Board of Regents KUDOS award, Lode was thanked for her dedication to the University of Nebraska at Omaha.
Congratulations, Chris!
