The University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) flag will be lowered on Monday, June 10, in memory of retiree Rita Leonard, who recently passed away. The thoughts and condolences of the university community are with Rita’s loved ones during this time. Read the full obituary.

About Rita

Rita started her career at UNO on Dec. 21, 1994. She retired from her role as Enrollment Specialist II in Records and Registration on July 1, 2006.

She is survived by her sons, Russell and Rodney James; and her sisters, Adelaide Hruska and Mary Ann Wolcott.

Service Information

Rita's visitation was on June 2 at Butherus Maser and Love Funeral Home in Lincoln. A rosary and mass of Christian burial was held on June 3 at North American Martyrs Catholic Church in Lincoln.
