The University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) is pleased to announce that the second Request for Proposal (RFP) portion of the Open AI Challenge is now open. New and current participants will need to submit an RFP for the opportunity to receive (or retain) one of UNO’s 1000 ChatGPT Enterprise licenses.
Why ChatGPT Enterprise?
If you’re using Generative AI or are interested in using Generative AI, applying to have access to ChatGPT Enterprise provides you access to the paid version of ChatGPT (at no cost to the user) with added security and safeguards, including no training on your data, SSO login, data privacy, and a dedicated workspace you can train to better suit your needs. You also have access to build your own GPTs (custom versions of ChatGPT) to better suit your course or work.
Participating in the Open AI Challenge
In round 1, we have seen a lot of innovative use cases and benefits across campus, especially in the areas of teaching and learning and operational efficiency. Examples include language learning, teaching students responsible and ethical use of generative AI in the writing and speech process, GPTs for tutoring, Q&A opportunities, and data analysis, and generating new ideas and developing course materials, among others.
For round 2, we will continue to seek projects that complement our goals of using AI to accelerate business operations, differentiate the academic environment at UNO, and explore use cases of generative away for broad campus-wide impact. While we are hoping for broad campus-wide impact, we welcome small and large explorations of generative AI that can provide benefits and help us understand the limitations of generative AI in the university setting.
Submitting Your Proposal
The deadline to submit your RFP is Dec. 1, with access for the second round being Jan. 6 through May 30 for new participants. For more information about submitting the RFP or Open AI Challenge, check out the Open AI Challenge Website.
Before submitting a proposal, individuals will need to:
-
Complete the Risk Classification Self-Assessment (must be attached to the proposal).
-
Identify the types of data you may use and associated risk level (using the ITS Risk Classification website for examples).
-
Complete the Generative AI Cybersecurity Awareness Training (5-10 minutes), before gaining access to ChatGPT Enterprise (Individuals who participated in cohort 1 do not need to complete this training again).
