Charmayne Adams, Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Counseling at the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences (CEHHS), answers the question: “September is National Suicide Prevention Month. What are the signs someone might be thinking of suicide and who should I reach out to if I'm concerned about a friend or family member?”
About Adams
Adams is an Independently Licensed Mental Health Provider in the state of Nebraska, and a Nationally Certified Counselor. Her work has primarily been with individuals in crisis or with a history of trauma. Additionally, she currently teaches the crisis and trauma course for the Department of Counseling at UNO. She has published and presented locally, regionally, and nationally on the topics of trauma-informed crisis intervention services, supporting vulnerable populations in times of crisis, and emotionally focused therapy.
