Maverick Food Pantry Providing "Boxes for Winter Break"

Any students from UNO, UNMC, College of Saint Mary, or Avenue Scholars as well as UNO faculty and staff can request this box of seasonal comfort food. The "Boxes for Winter Break" form will be open until Monday, Dec. 20 at Noon.

About "Boxes for Winter Break"

The Maverick Food Pantry is offering "Boxes for Winter Break" for those who would like to order seasonal comfort food for winter break starting on Friday, Dec. 24. Any students from UNO, UNMC, College of Saint Mary, or Avenue Scholars as well as UNO faculty and staff can request this box of seasonal comfort food. The "Boxes for Winter Break" form will be open until Monday, Dec. 20 at Noon.

Users can order up to 15 items of the following:

  • Mixes for stuffing, cornbread, gravy, and biscuits - gluten free options available

  • Mixes for instant potatoes, mac and cheese, Jell-O, and pudding

  • Canned items including cranberry sauce, vegetables, fruits, and gravy

  • Soups including chicken noodle soup, tomato soup, lentil soup, cream of mushroom soup, and cream of chicken soup

  • Broths including chicken, beef, and vegetable

  • Sauces including marinara, alfredo sauce, and tomato sauce

  • Grains including rice and tortillas

  • Beverages including apple juice, ginger ale, hot chocolate packets, tea bags, and instant coffee

  • Desserts including "ready to bake" cookie dough (gluten free option available), cake mix and frosting (gluten free option available), and brownie mix (gluten free option available)

Pick Up Process

The boxes will be available for pickup and delivery starting on Thursday, Dec. 16 from 1 - 7 P.M. All pickup and deliveries must be completed by Dec. 23 at 5 P.M.


Extended Weekend Orders

Due to the break, the Maverick Food Pantry will also be offering users to submit eight orders, which quadruples the amount of food given on a weekly basis.
