Jolene Rohde is a Grants Coordinator I at the University of Nebraska at Omaha with extensive experience in grant administration, compliance, and program management. Prior to joining UNO, she served as a Program Manager for the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services, overseeing federally funded public health initiatives, and as an Evaluation Coordinator at UNMC, where she facilitated evaluation and federal reporting . Additionally, Jolene has experience in pediatric clinical research coordination. Her background includes managing large-scale grant portfolios, ensuring regulatory compliance, and fostering strategic partnerships to advance research and public health initiatives.
Jolene directs efforts in the pre-award phase of the sponsored project lifecycle, specializing in supporting faculty and researchers through the development and submission of grant proposals. As a key liaison between the sponsor, university, and project teams, she ensures that proposals are compliant with sponsor guidelines, university policies, government regulations, and state laws. She also provides guidance on budget creation, interprets sponsor guidelines, and coordinates timelines from the initial intent to submit through the final submission, ensuring that all required institutional forms and documentation are completed accurately and on time.
Additionally, Jolene supports non-financial aspects of grant management, such as reviewing and facilitating sponsor changes to awards, managing cost-sharing requirements, and assisting with budget reallocations, no-cost extensions, project director changes, award transfers, and carryover requests.
