The UNO ACUP is required to recover the costs associated with the care of laboratory animals through per diem rates. Invoices are processed monthly and charged interdepartmentally to the principal investigator’s Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) project or department as indicated.

Rats housed with 3 animals per cage require an additional cage change per week, as indicated in the rate table above. This service costs an additional $4.81 per cage per week.
CO2 euthanasia can be performed by technical staff if requested. This service costs $6.85 per cage, based on the cost of supplies and Technician time.
