If you're working on a page that is not in draft form, you can set the page to not publish.
Sometimes a page needs to be updated, and instead of creating a draft that only you can see, updated information is submitted.
Submitting changes in Cascade does not publish the page; however, if another user publishes the folder in which that page is located, it will publish. There also is a nightly publication of the entire site.
In order to avoid an accidental publish, you can change the setting in the Configure tab.
Navigate to the page in Cascade.
- Click Edit
- Click the Configure tab on the page:
- Uncheck the "Include when indexing" and "Include when publishing" boxes:
It should look like this:
- Click Submit
If you uncheck "Include when publishing" the page will display a 404 in Search (if it has been previously published).
If you uncheck "Include when indexing" the page cannot be found in Search (if it has been previously published).
Now, when you try to publish the page, you will receive this message:
The page will not be unintentionally published if there is a sitewide publish, or if another user publishes that folder/site.
