Consent
Consent is permission for something to happen or an agreement to do something. Consent within a sexual relationship is an agreement to participate in a sexual activity. Sexual activity without consent is sexual assault.
Consent...
- Is freely given without manipulation or being under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
- Can be withdrawn at any time.
- Should be enthusiastic.
- Consent after coercion is not consent.
- Check in with your partner often and check for cues from your partner.
- It is helpful to discuss sexual activity beforehand.
Consent sounds like...
- Yes, I like that.
- That feels good.
- Keep going.
- I want you to [fill in the blank].
Consent does not sound like...
- I'm not sure.
- I don't know.
- I don't want to.
- Stop.
- No.
