Experiences and Involvement
Through the Summer Undergraduate Alcohol Research Program at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, Josh conducted research in Dr. Todd Wyatt’s lab on lung epithelial cells and mesenchymal stem cells and the effects of exposure to cigarette smoke and alcohol.
He also interned at the Munroe-Meyer Institute, where he was focused on designing their dental clinic to accommodate the needs of patients with intellectual or behavioral disorders and sensory-processing disorders.
For their Community Action Project, Joshua’s team is working with Arbor Bank on a platform that will connect high school and college students to internships and other opportunities.
Joshua is involved in UNO Dance Marathon, Urban Health Opportunities Program, and Chi Alpha Campus Ministries.
Career Interests
Following graduation, Joshua will pursue surgical medicine in either neurology or orthopedics. He hopes to conduct clinical and translational research to help create new and impactful public health initiatives to combat health disparities.
