Sam Ali
- Scott Scholar | Class of 2023
- Biomechanics and Bioinformatics
Additional Information
Experiences and Involvement
Sam has served as a student researcher in both the Bioinformatics Lab and Bioinformatics Lab. His biomechanics research involved 3D modeling upper arm prostheses for children with congenital upper limb deficiencies. In the Bioinformatics Lab, Sam is examining wearable sensors that collect ECG & EKG data to predict the likelihood of diseases and converts the MATLAB scripts to Python to process the raw data.
Sam interned with Union Pacific, where he assessed data framework issues. Sam has experience with Java, Python, Swift, MATLAB.
Sam’s Community Action Project team is working to help promote the Millwork Commons area as a space for creative minds and encourage creative collaborations there.
Career Interests
He plans to pursue a career in medical research but is also interested in emergency health services.
