Housing & Residence Life at UNO is committed to offering opportunities for future Student Affairs professionals to gain experience and exposure within the field of residence life. Since 2014, we have hosted one summer intern as a part of the Housing Internship Program sponsored by the Association of College and University Housing Officers– International (ACUHO-I).
Residence Life Intern
The ACUHO-I Residence Life Intern is involved in a variety of projects, based partially on areas of personal interest and partially on the department's needs. Some areas of responsibility may include assisting with departmental assessment efforts and representing Housing & Residence Life at summer orientation sessions.
We also believe it's important to expose our interns to life in Omaha and outside of Residence Life. Our previous summer interns were encouraged to identify other functional areas of interest so we could arrange opportunities for other relevant exposure. Additionally, we provide experiences in the community to showcase the City of Omaha and its unique relationship with UNO.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree - in progress or completed
- Interested in exploring residence life as a profession
Dates of Employment
This position's start and end dates are flexible. Ideally, we'd like to have an intern in Omaha from mid-May to mid-July. That being said, we are more than willing to work around the schedule of the intern who is hired for the position.

- $3,000 total stipend for the summer
- A four-bedroom apartment likely shared with three other Student Affairs summer interns or Housing staff members. The furnished apartment includes a kitchen, private bedroom, full bathroom (shared with one other individual), and a living area. Cable TV, internet, laundry, and all utilities are also included.
Please note: If accommodations are shared, roommates will be determined based on intern comfort levels with single-gender and coed spaces.
