Biography
Alexey Kamenskiy, Ph.D., is an expert in vascular mechanobiology and mechanophysiology, with a focus on understanding the function and pathophysiology of human arteries. Kamenskiy’s research aims to develop more effective and practical solutions to vascular challenges, including the creation of devices and materials for open and endovascular repairs.
Kamenskiy employs a multidisciplinary approach, utilizing ex vivo human artery characterization methods, perfused cadaver models, computational modeling, and in vivo preclinical large animal models. His lab has been funded by multiple federal and non-federal sources, including NIH, DoD, FDA, and private industry.
Kamenskiy is the Director of the NIH-funded Center for Cardiovascular Research in Biomechanics (CRiB) that supports the development of novel cardiovascular materials and devices.
