Biography
Austin Doctor, Ph.D. specializes in terrorism, political violence, and armed conflict, focusing on the Middle East and Africa.
His research explores militant leadership, insurgent tactics, foreign fighters, and malign use of emerging technologies.
His work is published in Terrorism and Political Violence, Perspectives on Terrorism, the Journal of Conflict Resolution, International Studies Quarterly, Civil Wars, Parameters, the CTC Sentinel, and other peer-review journals.
Doctor has worked with several national publications, including the Associated Press, the Washington Post, and the Wall Street Journal, to share expert analysis and insights on these topics.
He is a member of the executive committee and head of counterterrorism research initiatives for the National Counterterrorism Innovation, Technology, and Education Center (NCITE) at UNO.
