Biography
Nikolaos Stergiou, Ph.D., is an expert in biomechanics and human movement variability, with research that spans rehabilitation, robotic surgical training, and treatment of movement disorders.
An international authority in nonlinear dynamics, Stergiou’s research impacts rehabilitation, robotic surgical training, and treatment of conditions like peripheral arterial disease.
He has received over $40M in research funding from NIH, NSF, NASA, and others.
Stergiou has published more than 300 peer-reviewed papers and directs the UNO Division of Biomechanics and Research Development that includes the Biomechanics Research Building, the first facility of its kind in the world.
