The University of Nebraska Omaha (UNO) is honored to have hosted the 2016 Engagement Scholarship Consortium (ESC) conference. The 17th annual ESC conference took place on October 11th and 12th.

The Engagement Scholarship Consortium (ESC) is a non-profit educational organization composed of higher education member institutions that work collaboratively to promote strong university-community partnerships anchored in the rigor of scholarship, and designed to help build community capacity.

Coalition of Urban and Metropolitan Universities
As Nebraska's metropolitan university, UNO is an active member of the Coalition of Urban and Metropolitan Universities (CUMU).
UNO was pleased to be the host of last year's 2015 CUMU conference. The theme of the conference was 'Love of Place: The Metropolitan University Advantage'.
The three-day conference started with an opening symposium at UNO's Barbara Weitz Community Engagement Center. Around 300 people representing 32 U.S. states and three Canadian provinces attended the conference.
International Association for Research on Service-Learning and Community Engagement
The International Association for Research on Service-Learning and Community Engagement (IARSLCE) is an international non-profit organization devoted to promoting research and discussion about service-learning and community engagement.
The 2013 conference, themed Reinvigorating our Process of Discovery, took place at the Hilton Omaha, NE Convention Center. This conference hosted 135 presentations and 35 posters.
