The Department of World Languages will grant retroactive credit for specific lower-level French, German, or Spanish courses subject to the following conditions:
- A student who completes a 3000-level course in French, German, or Spanish with a grade of CR, C- or better at UNO without previously completing the 1110-2120 sequence here or at another institution shall receive credit for 1110, 1120, 2110, 2120.
- A student who completes any French, German, or Spanish course in the 1120-2120 sequence with a grade of CR, C-or better at UNO without having completed the previous courses may be granted credit for those previous courses.
- A student who completes SPAN 1200 with a grade of CR, C- or better at UNO without having completed SPAN 1100 may be granted credit for the previous course.
Retroactive credit for a course is only available if the student doesn't already have an equivalent AP exam score or previous college credit for the course.

How do I request my Retroactive Credit?
To apply for retroactive credit, fill out the form below and return it to the Department of World Languages via email (mglee@unomaha.edu) or in person in 301 ASH.
There is no cost for the credit hours which are applicable to the University of Nebraska at Omaha degree requirements, however, these credits are not graded.
If the student transfers to another institution, the retroactive credit may or may not be accepted according to the policy of the transfer institution.
