With more than 25 years of experience in finance, operations, and marketing, Rob Friedman recently joined Amtrak as vice president of marketing, where he leads efforts to increase revenue and customer engagement.
Previously, as vice president of marketing for American Airlines, Friedman led the transformation of the airline’s brand and customer experience as the company launched unprecedented modernization efforts. He served as the president of AAdvantage®, where he led the 70 million member loyalty program.
Friedman also managed American’s largest call center. Prior to that, he was managing director of Interactive Marketing, where he led CRM initiatives as well as developed AA.com into the company’s largest distribution and customer contact channel. He joined American in revenue management.
Friedman graduated in 1985 from the University of Nebraska at Omaha with a BSBA in finance. He started his career as an analyst in the General Electric Financial Management program, after being recruited through UNO’s Career Placement program.
Friedman has served on the board of the American Airlines Federal Credit Union, as a member of the marketing committee of the Dallas Museum of Art, and is currently an advisor to Ben’s Friends, a nonprofit that offers online patient support communities for people with rare diseases. Friedman and his wife, Kelly, have two sons in college and split time between their home in Dallas and Washington D.C.
